The you can go to the MOBY service center to collect your e-bike. You’ll be provided with a bike, lock and charger. What's included with my bike subscription?

With your MOBY bike subscription there are great perks which are included within your weekly cost:

Where do I collect the bike?

Schedule an appointment at our service centers, you’ll complete your contract before going there and activate your rental by scanning a qr code when you take the bike.

Can you deliver my bike?

You have to collect the bike from our service centers, indicated on the map.  We do not not currently deliver bikes to you.

What is the security deposit?

Is a refundable deposit which will be returned to you at the end of your rental period, provided there is no damage to the bike. See terms and conditions for more our discuss with our team

Can I rent an extra battery?

You will be able to rent an extra battery subject to availability. You can request a second battery when signing up or reach out to customer service after you sign up for more information about adding a second battery to your subscription.

Can I change bikes after I have started my subscription

Yes, if there is available stock, you will be able to uprgrade your subscirption if you are an existing customer.  You can find out more through a MOBY representative.

What areas of Amsterdam do you cover?

We have no restricitions but you will need to bring the bike to our service centers for repairs or to return the bike, so your proximity to these locations is important (1053 KS & 1061 XT)

What happens when my bike breaks and needs repairing?

Free wear & tear maintenance and servicing at our depots is included in the price. Just contact us to confirm your bringing the bike into us and we’ll take care of the rest.  For damage beyond wear & tear you are responisble for the cost

Using & storing the bike?

The security of the bike is your responsibility for the subscription period. Your must lock and store bike safely indoors at night as if it were your own bike. Do not leave it unattended for extended periods, even locked around the city.  We recommend you use an additional lock when locking outside. Cycle the bike responsibly in accordance with the law, do not ride the bike off-road, on sand or on mountain bikes trails.  A helmet and hi-vis clothing is additionally recommended. Reckless use of the bike will result in damage beyond ‘wear & tear’ and could result in you loosing your deposit.

Tell me move about the theft cover insurance?

When signing up for a subscription there is theft cover applied to the bike during the agreement. The Cover has been put in place to cover the cost of the vehicle if there is a theft. This cover however is not always guaranteed and MOBY cannot be liable if a claim for theft is made and it is not held. If there is a theft of your bike, then there are certain steps to have taken before and after to maximise the chance for a successful claim through the insurance partner. Firstly there is the locking rules which are detailed below and explain how to lock the bike correctly and where to lock the bike. This is important as if it is not locked correctly then the cover is invalid. The reporting process is then detailed which explains what to do when a theft has occurred. After a claim is made, this is sent to the insurance company and it is either accepted or reject. In the event it is rejected, the subscriber will be liable for the full cost of the bike. What happens if the bike is stolen?

Reporting a theft

  • In the unfortunate event that your bike is stolen you must follow the below process.
  • If your bike is stolen you must report this to the police within 24 hours of the theft.
  • A police report will need to be filed and a reference obtained from them.
  • You will need to report this to MOBY via email within the 24 hours of the theft.
  • MOBY will then be in contact with the next steps based on whether you selected insurance or no insurance on your bike package. 

Theft – Insured

  • The Subscriber will inform MOBY of the theft within 24 hours of the event.
  • MOBY will send the claims form that will need to be completed to make a claim on the cost of the bike to the Subscriber.
  • Details that will be required for the form include but not limited to:
    • Provide MOBY with the police reference number within 24 hours of the theft.
    • Provide MOBY with a picture of the bike lock key within 24 hours of the theft.
    • Provide MOBY with a picture of where the bike was stolen within 24 hours of the theft.

MOBY will then submit the claim to the insurance company for review. 

If any of the above is not followed you will be liable to pay the full costs of the bike and any of the other elements of the bike package that are not returned. An admin fee is also charged for making a claim, whether successful or unsuccessful.

How do I cancel my subscription?

First contact Support to notify us then you must bring the bike to us to cancel your subscription. As soon as we recieve and inspect the bike we will cancel your subscription.

1. YOU & YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

The safe keeping of the bike overnight and during your daily usage is your responsibility. You will sign a contract and present your required ID when you collect the bike,  you are required to pay weekly and accept liability in the event of damage or loss outside of our terms and conditions.

2. SERVICING / MAINTENANCE / SWAPS

Standard wear and tear such as punctures (inner tubes limited to 1 per month), tyres, chain and brakes issues as they occur will be repaired only at our service depots in Amsterdam,  We’ll repair or swap the bike if needed and subject to availability.  If you do not bring the bike to us, you are responsible for the cost of regular maintenance and repairs such as punctures, which must be carried in a recognised bike shop.

3. THEFT OR LOSS

In the event that your bike is stolen or lost and not recoverable via GPS tracking. You will be liable for a deductible  + the deposit.  The deductible varies by bike from €100-€500. If it cannot be proven by you the bike was locked correctly, theft cover will not apply and you will be liable for the full replacement cost of the bike.
