Here's a quick rundown of the service changes and improvements MOBY riders can expect throughout July 2026. Most work happens overnight to keep daytime availability high.

Planned maintenance windows

  • Dublin — Tuesday 14 July, 02:00–05:00: brief app downtime for backend upgrades
  • Athlone — Wednesday 22 July, 03:00–04:30: dock firmware rollout
  • Mullingar — Thursday 30 July, 02:30–04:00: payment system update

Expanded parking zones

We're adding 18 new MOBY parking zones across Dublin's south inner city and Docklands, plus two new hubs in Athlone town centre — making it easier to end your ride closer to where you actually need to be.

Fleet refresh

150 refreshed e-bikes with upgraded brakes, brighter lights and larger phone mounts will be phased into the Dublin fleet from mid-July. Look for the updated MOBY livery.

App improvements

  • Faster unlock times on iOS and Android
  • In-app reporting for parking and maintenance issues
  • Trip receipts now include CO₂ savings vs. equivalent car trips
